Bridge to Independence Ohio
Empowering Youth to Build Independent, Stable Futures
About Bridge to Independence Ohio
At Bridge to Independence Ohio, we believe that no young person should have to face adulthood alone.
Each year, youth aging out of foster care are expected to navigate life without the consistent support systems many take for granted, such as stable housing, guidance, and a reliable safety net. Too often, this transition leads to housing instability, unemployment, or worse. We exist to change that story.
Bridge to Independence Ohio was founded with a clear purpose: to provide safe, supportive transitional housing and life-skills development for youth as they step into independence. Our program is designed to meet young people where they are and equip them with the tools they need to build stable, successful futures.
Our Approach
Through structured support, we help residents develop essential life skills and meaningful independence. Beyond housing, we provide mentorship, accountability, and a sense of belonging because independence is not just about having a place to live, but having the confidence and support to thrive.
Our Vision
We envision a future where every young person aging out of foster care has access to safe housing, meaningful opportunities, and the resources necessary to succeed. As we grow, we are committed to expanding our reach across Ohio by creating multiple homes and programs that serve both young women and young men as they transition into adulthood.
At Bridge to Independence Ohio, we are not just providing housing, we are building bridges to brighter futures.
Our Services
Safe Transitional Housing
We provide stable, supportive housing for youth transitioning out of foster care. Our homes offer a safe environment where residents can focus on personal growth, goal-setting, and building a foundation for independence.
Life-Skills Training
Residents participate in hands-on learning that prepares them for everyday responsibilities, including budgeting, cooking, time management, personal organization, and household maintenance—skills essential for long-term stability.
Educational & Employment Support
We support residents in achieving their educational and career goals through resume building, job search assistance, interview preparation, and connections to GED programs, colleges, and vocational training opportunities.

Case Management
Each resident receives individualized support through regular one-on-one meetings. We work together to create personalized goals, monitor progress, and ensure each individual has the resources needed to succeed.

Mental Health Referrals
We recognize the importance of emotional well-being. While we do not provide clinical services directly, we connect residents with trusted mental health professionals and community resources to support their overall wellness.

Independent Living Planning
From day one, we help residents prepare for life after the program. This includes developing a housing plan, securing employment or education, building savings, and creating a clear path toward long-term independence.

Financial Empowerment
Residents gain practical financial knowledge, including managing money, building credit, opening bank accounts, and developing savings habits that support long-term financial stability.
